AUDIO DOLLS is a musical collab between two amazing rising House and Techno stars, Gemma Furbank and Steff Smith!!!
The girls, both based in the North-West, met online. They quickly became friends after realising, they both had very similar tastes...and a very strong passion and determination and drive to succeed in the very, male orientated world of DJing and Producing!
2009 has been a very fast paced, and exciting time for both the girls individually, with them both securing gig's at some of the UK's best clubs - and sharing the bill with some of the world's best DJs!
Gigs such as Revival Summer Sound System - where they shared the bill with Micky Fidget, Micky Slim, Adam Sheridan, K-Klass.
The World famous Sankeys, Manchester, sharing the bill with the likes of Funkagenda, Jonathan Ulysess, Dave Spoon, Oliver Giacomoto and the We Love Space tour.
It wasn't long before people started to sit up and take notice, of the hard work these two were putting in.
In November, both girls decided to hit the studio together for the first time. Creating their very first collabs. A grooving Tech House track "Bionic Groove", and then onto a more driving Techno number "Sub-Sonic".
It was obvious from the minute they got in the studio, that both girls had a very definite idea of the sound's they wanted to create, and worked amazingly well together!

Upon leaving the studio, within less than 24 hours, their track "SUB-SONIC" was signed to MAD HATTER RECORDINGS! A label co-owned by Nick Hussey and Carl Anians, with an amazing group of DJ/Producer's onboard, and championed by none other than CARL COX!
Upon playing their first ever B2B set, at Sankeys, it was clear that people were loving the whole tag team concept!
Dave Spoon's set started just as the girls played, and still they had the crowd rocking, and the room rammed!
Gemma and Steff were the only DJs, alongside Funkagenda and Dave Spoon, to get a special mention about their set's, in a Sankeys Review for www.tonightinmycity.com!!!
Audio Dolls smashed SPEKTRUM/SANKEYS on BOXING DAY - when they shared the billing with the "S" Man - ROGER SANCHEZ!!!
The girl's returned to Spektrum, on Jan the 30th, playing a full on peak time set - and had the place rocking!
There's first ever release, "Sub-Sonic" went straight to NUMBER ONE in the Tech/Min chart, on trackitdown.net! It sat respectably, on the top, for over 3 weeks..in a pile of amazing tracks, by the girl's idol's including Umek and Fergie.
"Sub-Sonic" featured too, in 5 DJ/Artists Jan Top 10 Charts including - DANIEL PORTMAN, MATT SMALLWOOD, MICHAEL WOODS, GLITTER and MINDFORM!!
With remix work coming in thick and fast, and signing up for E.Ps throughout the year, these too look set to shake up the Techno world, and fast become the First Ladies Of Tech!
Very quickly, Gemma and Steff realised they could be onto a winning formula. This was the moment of creation for the AUDIO DOLLS!
With huge interest already in them as a duo, 2010 promises to be a mind blowing year, of gig's and new releases! ;
